Welcome!
We want to thank you for registering for the “Gathering of the Herd” MCA Grand National Mustang Show hosted by the National Capital Region Mustang Club and the Fredericksburg, VA Fairgrounds, located at 2400 Airport Avenue, Fredericksburg, VA. We are both honored and looking forward to hosting your visit and making the event a memorable one for all who attend. This is a large show that has approximately 370 registered cars as well as 138 trailers expected.
The Fairgrounds is a large tract of land that covers over 130 acres and is fully fenced. It is a privately held property and the entrance gate will be locked/secured every evening.
Below is a schedule of events and a show site map. The show map identifies the flow of cars and trailers from the main gate into the show site, the location of the MCA classification/check-in area, the outdoor show field, the two buildings used for inside parking of show cars, the trailer parking area and the locations of other key features of the show site.
Show Site Procedure

Here’s How It Works:

All show cars and trucks/trailers must enter via the Main Gate. Show cars must line up on the right side of the internal road that runs through the middle of the fairgrounds leading to the MCA classification/check-in area (follow the orange route) – see show site map for overview.

Trucks/trailers will also enter via the Main Gate but will be directed to the left side of the internal road so they can drive to the Trailer Parking area (follow the blue route) – see show site map for overview.

Police Officers and show personnel will provide traffic control and guidance daily and overnight security will be provided. Due to the expected high amount of show-related congestion in this area, and to make this a safe and pleasant show, please follow all instructions from any police or show official.

Things to Know/Remember
-
Have your MANDATORY, fully charged fire extinguisher inside your car (not the trunk) for a quick inspection by personnel at the MCA classification check-in area. This will help to expedite cars through the check-in process.
-
Show cars parked on the outdoor grass show field can either remain on the show field overnight, be driven back to your hotel or put back into your trailer. These cars must remain on the show field until 5:00pm on Friday and Saturday and also remain in place until after the conclusion of the awards ceremony on Sunday.
-
Show cars parked inside in buildings #1 and #2 must remain in their parking spot for the duration of the show and cannot be moved.
-
Overnight security will be provided at the Fairgrounds from 6:00pm – 7:00am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Fairgrounds main gate will be secured starting at 6:00pm daily so please plan to depart prior to 6:00pm.
-
Show goody bags are available to be picked up at the NCRMC tent, located next to the pavilion.
-
If you ordered tickets to the Friday night social and/or Saturday Night banquet (with guest speaker Lee Holman) and/or a show T-shirt, please pick up these items at the NCRMC tent, located next to the pavilion.
-
The NCRMC will have a silent auction that will include some unique, one-of-a-kind items. Please stop by the silent auction tent to look over the items and place your bid. All proceeds from the sale of these items will go to the NCRMC and the charities we support.
-
If you have any questions during the show please stop by the NCRMC tent and a staff member will assist you.
Indoor Parking
Information
-
Cars that are registered for inside parking will be given directions at the MCA classification/check-in area how to enter the buildings that are used for inside parking. Your car is pre-assigned to a building and changes cannot be made.
-
Due to Fire Code restrictions, vehicles being parked inside must arrive with a ¼ tank or less of fuel and the negative battery cable must be disconnected once parked – no exceptions. In addition, cars parked inside must have a piece of blue tape covering the gas cap. The NCRMC will provide the tape.
-
Gas tanks will be checked prior to entering the building. If your gas tank is not showing ¼ tank or less than your car will be denied entry – there are no exceptions.
-
The Fire Marshall advised that there will be an unannounced spot inspection during the show.

Trailer Parking Information
Trailer parking at the show site is available on a first come/first served basis. Trailer parking will be available starting on Thursday, 28 August from 1:00pm – 5:00pm for those attendees who wish to drop off their trailer for overnight storage prior to the opening of the show. Your car must remain in/on your trailer overnight on Thursday and cannot be unloaded. Show volunteers will be at the trailer parking areas to assist in the orderly parking of your truck/trailer. Please follow their guidance so that all vehicles can be quickly and safely parked and unloaded.
There will be a temporary unload zone area with a hard packed surface that can be used to unload your car. Your truck/trailer must only remain for a short period of time and be moved quickly so others can also make use of this unload zone. Please respect your fellow show attendees and move your truck/trailer from the temporary unload zone as soon as possible.
