View Full Version : Do you like the re-do or is the Camaro gonna kill it?

Ok, I'll be first....I like the re-do for '10, but I'm not sure its enough to combat sales errosion cause by the camaro. Frankly, I like the new Camaro a little better ....please don't kick me out of the forum for that....

Of course, sales of the Camaro will be dependent upon GM being around in 6 months...and I don't get Fords decision to actually have an '09 model of the Stang...how many can they actually sell with a new one coming in spring?

I also like the look of the Challenger, but is a huge car and quality sucks.

Anybody else care to share an opinion?

As the owner of an '07, I like the interior re-do. The current model has way too much hard plastic. The exterior is another matter. For my tastes, its too "ricey". Don't like the front end - the little front spoiler-ettes on each side of the lower grill make it look like a catfish. The bigger "hips" look like they were trying to emulate the Dodge Charger and the tail-lights look like they were copied from a '70s Toyota Celica. If they had to make changes, I would have preferred changes that added more power and handling, but I understand that there's no $$ in the kitty for that stuff right now.

I'm so glad I have a 2009. I did not like the styling changes of the exterior for 2010 model. It looks just like that Toyota you've discribed and I couldn't place for several weeks floating in time.

I am not really liking the rear end of the car, but I am hoping to see the car at the Washington Auto Show. Maybe the car will look better in person.

I agree, don't like the rear end! The grill in the front is smaller and the interior air vents have been changed also. I'll stay with the 09's and before.

Not Liking the Re-do either, Plus they only added 15hp

The Camaro SS1 will cost the same as the Mustang and out power it by 100hp.
I too Like the New Camaro, and I like it's power...

Hey the Camero 6 banger is pumping out 304 hp and 29mpg. The V8 GT Mustang is only rated at 300 (?)
Jeez, sign me up for the grocery getter camaro. My '03 V6 Mustang has about 190hp and gets maybe 24 mpg highway, and only about 18 mpg average.
Is that treason?

Looks like every other car on the road! 6.0 or not, Chevy missed the mark! If it didn't have Camero written on the side, it could be a Toyota.

I disagree that it looks like every other car on the road. I think it has an American Muscle car look to it....I would never mistake it for a rice burner ....it looks like a Camaro to me.

The front is just ugly.

I like the proto type front end much better.

When I saw it at the Washington Auto Show I thought someone had parked a new Challenger in the GM display. If you can't see the grille, the body lines look a lot like the Challenger. It certainly doesn't look like any Toyota I've ever seen. I think it will be a hit for the GM guys considering their other muscle car choice, the GTO, really does look like it could be a Toyota.

Agreed, it does look like the challenger , esp the front.

I agree with Gee Tee (Val). The new camaro will be a big hitt with the GM crowd.

This car, in my opinion, and you know what's that's like, looks like crap! Where does anyone see in these pictures that reminds them of a Camero?

I don't like the look of the new Camaro. The Charger is much cooler looking. I would like to see a REAL re-make of the GTO.

I think it looks as much like a Camaro as the new Mustang looks like a Mustang. The Challenger, Camaro, and Mustang are all very well done. And I strongly disagree that they look like rice burners.....come on....tell me which rice burner it resembles?

It doesn't look like any I've seen....Not like the Nissan Z or Infiniti G37, not like any Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai,Kia, or Scion, or Mazda. It looks more like the Challenger to me...the only Japanese car that it resembles might be a first generation Toyota Celica from the early 70's, but hey that was modeled after....the first generation Camaro!

Long live personal muscle cars, regardless of make or model!

Let's put it this way. From a city block away you can see a Mustang, because Ford hit the mark. From a block away these Camero's will look like anything else on the street, I think GM missed it. At the car show, I would have decided on the Challenger, I think it's closer than the others. Has anyone driven the Charger? It's so heavy, it won't get out of it's own way, and that's with the Hemi! To me, these pictures don't turn me on one bit.

All three new muscle cars have their virtues, but I think brand loyalty will determine who will buy which car. Check out this article on MSN today for a rundown on all three:
