Hawdy mustang enthusiasts. I saw the club mentioned in the current issue of the mustang monthly. Pretty cool site. The 67 W.I.P. stands for 67 coupe, work in progress. Currently the body is sitting on a rotissary stripped down and in self etching primer. I'm hoping to start cutting and welding after the first of the year. Do any members live in the Front Royal area? Ya'll have a good thanks giving.

I think you are the first member that has joined the website from Front Royal. I know that the Shenandoah Valley Mustang Clubis is a very good club in your area and hosts a great show at Shenandoah Ford (http://shenandoahford.dealerconnection.com/pages/present/flm/notlocalized/home/default.asp?lang=en&NavID=1&PageID=3000&content=edit).

I knew there were car clubs out here. I didn't know there was a mustang club in winchester though. I looked on line a couple times in the past and didn't really find anything out this way. You wouldn't happen to have a url for their web site by chance. Thanks, Warren

I do not believe they have a website, but I did give you a contact name and number in the previous post.
We would love to have you a member of our club though.

I just joined the nrcmc as a member. I'm working on going to the restoration seminar on saturday. I don't know what it takes to prove menbership, I'll bring my receit. My car needs basicly an entire front end so anything I can learn will be a great help. We could probably have some of these seminars out at my place considering all the sheet metal that needs to be replaced. Hope to see ya'll on saturday. Later, Warren

I think you're ok bringing a receipt. Mostly only memebers attend anyway....

You really do not have to be a member of the club to attend the restoration seminar. We don't ask for proof of membership. We hold the seminars to help demonstrate various techniques used during restoration. It is a good way to exchange ideas and to talk to others who may have done something that would benefit you in your restoration process. It is a good time of fellowship with others who share a common goal.

agree, this actually is one of my most favorite gatherings. there are a lot of old salts that can teach us all a lot (ricahrd and many others). I still remember one we had in the 90's I think at Jerry's Ford, and a fellow named ricketts showed us all the various versions of the 67 dash bezels. It was perfect for me because at the time I was restoring a 67 GT. I also remember some great seminars on rebuilding alternators and many other things, but, like Jim said, the best part is to hang around your fellow mustang guys and talk war stories and enjoy each others stories and mustangs. I'm really hoping the weather holds because I want to take a drive in the ole gal. probably last drive before the winter really settles in.

Tony,
That was Darrel Ricketts and he still trying to find a car to go with that dash bezel. He is now driving a '69 Chevelle. Charles Wagner is the alternator man. His work is outstanding.

remember Charles' 68 Sunlit Gold GT, man that was a beautiful car. I wish Charles was still around, I would love to have him rebuild my original AUTOLITE alternator. funny about Daryl, he was the 67 man. He used to have a powder blue GTA driver as well. Those were some good days. I hope we have a big showing at the seminar.

Charles isn't as active as he use to be, but you are correct about his fastback. It was a real beauty. I almost bought the blue fastback from Darrel but I bought a 70 MACH1 from another member. I have since sold the MACH1 and purchased a 70 BOSS 302.

sound like you have moved up in the neighborhood. Daryl really drove that old blue thing around a lot. Boy did he like his 67s. I think Charles sold that beauty to get back his old sprint option car. I would like to get a 69 boss one of these days, but, would have to give this car up to get it. It would be tough to give up that shaker :D

I have been looking for a 69' 429 Boss for sometime now. The ones that I have found are way out of my price range, but I am hoping that I will be at the right place and at the right time to get one in the price range that is not out of this world.

I hope the resto seminar went well, I was on the way when I got a call from Don Elkins this morning telling me that my seats were ready.....I had him recover them, because no matter how much time I spent with those TMI cover I could not get them on right. Now, they look great! So I only missed it to get closer to finishing my car!

This was my first seminar and I learned quite a lot. I wanted to thank Allen, Gary and the rest of the guys for allowing the new guy to jump in and get my hands dirty.
Thanks, Warren

I wondered what happened to you Oldstyl. I was sure you would be there, so I was asking everyone who showed up if they were Oldstyl. I guess picking up your seats is a valid reason for missing the seminar. Glad to hear you're making progress.
Try to keep warm,
Val

I was actually on my way to the seminar when I got the call....I was really close too....right by Costco!
Sorry I missed it, but I got a lot of work done this weekend on my car, so I couldn't go wrong eitherway.
