Everyone,

Everything is a go at the dealership to have the 1st Annual SHEEHY FORD of Gaithersburg, Show and Shine on Saturday, July 5th. The rain date is Sunday, July 6th. Sheehy Ford will supply food and drink, the awards, Judges, and parking spaces for the cars. I am hoping to get between 30 and 40 cars at this event. The dealership is very enthusiastic about having this event and I want a good showing.

NCRMC will provide the cars, sound system and music (after WFRE is done), 2 pop up tents and tables for the registration desk, registration personnel, windsheild placards, parking personnel, and club banners. The dealership would also like to have some of the color membership brochures for the club to hand out to new Mustang owners at the dealership.

The dealership will advertise the event on WFRE the week before the show. They also put information in their advertisements prior to the event.

I have created a show flyer and I am going to forward the flyer to Mike Engleman at Sheehy Ford for their approval. I will then send the flyer to board members for their approval. Once everything is finalized, I will then produce copies to be handed out at the dealership and at our membership meeting in June.

Please provide feedback, either through a PM or through this forum entry.

Jim Bridgett.

Jim,
This is awesome news. I will definitely attend this event.

I have added the event to the club calendar and home page.

Chris,

Thanks for putting this item on the front page. I will get the flyer to you guys soon. What would be the easiest way to get the flyer to the board members?

I'll ask...is this at the SHEEHY FORD in Gaithersburg or Springfield? I'm guessing the one in Gaithersburg.

I think this will be my first NCRMC event that I will be able to attend. I've tried to make a couple in the past but it just never worked out. I'll at least have my 67 Vert there and maybe my 91 LX. I look forward to finally meeting some of the club members.

I'll see if I can get my 66' together to take to the show.
I've got dash work planned and some exterior stuff including some new (old) tread (Goodyear Polyglas tires on Magnum 500's), but I think I can get it done for the show. Thanks for the heads up.

There is no pre-registration for the Show and Shine. Shine up the Pony or other FORD product and just bring it to event. This will be a laid back, easy going event. Free Food, Good Music and friendly conversations with other owners. This event is for charity. All registration and donations will be given to the National Race for the Cure.

I should make this one, as always, weather permitting. Mike Englemann was out at Burtonsille's Church of the Holy Donut's weekly gathering spreading the word. I have informed all the FGT owners.
I saw my first FR500 Mustang a few weeks ago down in Virginia. Does anyone in this area have one?
See everyone there.

. . . and I can bring some cigar boxes (empty) if the right person makes this event. (free)

Pete,

Have they moved the Sunday gathering yet? I may have some free time this Sunday and might drop by and wanted to make sure of the location.

All right guys, time to step up and volunteer to help out at the show on July 5th. We will need help starting at 9 am to set up the registration area (tents and tables), set up our club banners, and help parking the cars in the show area. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd love to help out. Couple things I have questions about.
1. Can I register and be in the show with a Mustang in the process of restoration?
2. If I come early to help set up and put my car in the show, can I leave mid day?
I have other plans with my kids in the the afternoon.

Kevin,
Please bring your Mustang. This is just a show and shine so I there should be no problem bringing your project car and have it in the show. There should be no problem with you leaving mid day to make your commentments with your kids.

Late in response: as far as I know, the donut remains the same; if the weather is nice enough, I will be there the 6th. Someone told me when it moves it will begin across the street closer to 29 I guess.

Dan & I wil be there with both cars if no rain. Once mine is clean, I can help out where needed. I'll check in with you all when I get there.

We need to buy an NCRMC window sticker if you can bring some. Thanks!

Hey Guys,

It's raining in Severna Park, as of 6:26 AM. Any decision on the show today?

In Silver Spring, Md. it's clear at the moment. I'm going to see what the news says.
I hope the rains holds off for the day.

I really wish someone in charge would make a decision, or at least log on and give an indication of what's going on.

I'm up in Darnestown (min from Sheehy) and it's not doing anything at the moment. The radar shows that the last patch of showers are coming through right now and after that it looks clear for a while. The only thing is who knows how long it will take for the clouds to move on and the roads to dry out.

It's 7:40 and I'm in Lovettsville - 30 minutes from Sheehy and it is still drizzling here. If weather is still like this tomorrow, is there an alternate rain date of next weekend?

I'm in Stafford, about an hour away, and it just started pouring.

The Sheehy Ford show is a GO! The weather is improving and it has been decided to go ahead and have the show. I hope that everyone can make it when the weather clears in your area.

Thanks to everyone that helped and everyone that brought a car to the show today. We had a total of 34 cars and raised $350 for National Race for the Cure.
