I have been contacted by Sheehy Ford about participating in a radio promotion day they are having on Saturday, April 26th. Radio station WFRE (Frederick, Md.) will be doing a radio promo from the dealership and Sheehy was asking us if we could provide some "eye candy" in the form of vintage and late model Mustangs to line the grassy area in front of the dealership on Maryland 355. So I am asking you Marylanders who claim we don't do anything in Maryland to pitch in and help by volunteering to bring your car to the dealership on Saturday, April 26th. Now this is not just for Marylanders, I would also like to have some of you Virginia owners cross the river and bring your cars. We are also in discussion with the dealership in doing a large show and shine at the dealership sometime this summer. So stay tuned to the web site for more details.

Sounds pretty cool. I'm interested. The show & shine sounds great too. Soon we'll be spending every weekend at a different Ford dealership. :D

Jim,
I will bring the Shelby to this event. What time do we have to be there?

Chris,

I have a meeting with Mike Engleman at the dealership on Thursday. I will get the times for the promo day. When we last spoke, he said sometime in the morning. I will keep you informed. I may want to send out a mass email to all of the Maryland members asking for a "show of hands" for the promo day.

How long is the event?
I'd like to participate if I can fit in around my kids activities.

Is it an all or nothing or can you spend part of the time in the event?

Come for as long as you can. We appreciate all of the support that we can get. We are trying to establish a relationship with the dealership for future Maryland events and activities.

Everyone,

I just finished meeting with the people at Sheehy and we should be there around 9 am. To get to the dealership, take I-270 north to the Montgomery Village Avenue exit (RT.124) you will be going east on Rt. 124. Go to the light at Rt. 355 and turn left (north). The dealership is just up the street on the right hand side of the street.

Here is hoping for good weather.

See you Saturday.

Depending on which TV/Radio station you listen to, the rain may not arrive until late afternoon or early evening.

Lets hope that the rain will hold off until evening. Most of us won't drive our older cars in the rain.

I want to thank everyone who participated today at Sheehy Ford. It was a good turn out and a beautiful day. The dealership was happy with how everything turned out and they even sold several cars while we were there and one California Special was sold due to our being out front of the dealership. A guy was driving by and saw the cars out front stopped in the showroom and bought a White GT/CS.

Jim,
Thank you for setting up this event! I had a great time and I am happy that the dealership was able to sell some Mustangs due to our participation.

I hope that you will be able to setup a show and shine for July. I would like to participate.

Jim:

Thank you again for hosting the car show. Great mix of Ford vehicles and years of cars. We could not have asked for more perfect weather out there. It was good to speak with all of the members about their cars. I will look forward to the next event.
